Demonstration activities,  will be performed in 2009.  

 In particular:

• portable PHOTO device was tested in a UAB industrial facility. CSB  products was also be tested.
  Demonstration task were conducted on both fresh fruits and vegetables and minimally processed vegetables

• small scale PEF pilot equipment developed by SIK was used during a “technology open testing-day”  in which food industry representatives were invited.

• HPH Pilot-scale equipment of Niro Soavi was available for CAMST and was used to test soups, egg/milk based creamy products, fruit juices.
   

• The validation task for HHPCO was performed with pilot-scale equipment that was available in Hyperbaric NC. Validation task was conducted on RTE vegetable dishes produced by ORT. A “technology open testing-day” was organized and supervised by CSIC.

  2. Technology description

During the demonstration activities the results obtained were validated under real conditions also monitoring the proper functioning of key elements of performance control (e.g., temperature, pressure) of the process. Commercial feasibility were evaluated by the Food Companies involved on the basis of their organization and their clients requirements (commercial specifications).
The legal status was considered and evaluated according to the approach of “Food Safety Objectives – Role in Microbiological Food Safety Management” (RPFSO - Report)
