Description of Participant and Expertise:
UAB "Palink" is the second biggest retail network in Lithuania and also operates in Latvia. UAB "Palink" operates from 1993 specializes in and has 136 shops in Lithuania and Latvia, 66 of them has butchery units in the shops were fresh meat are produced, as well 22 units for pastry production and 8 units for production of fresh fruit and vegetable salads also ready-to-eat meat and fish product production. For production of products UAB "Palink" orientates do not use chemical preservation method and that’s the reason why in their work is very important to make precise technological process and initiate new technologies to increase food safety and product shelf life.
Participating people
- Nomeda Rimsaite (business management) head of production department from 1993 is working on retail system. From 2001 organises production, expert on production and delivery to consumers of fresh products.
- Modestas Keblys (PhD biomedical sciences, veterinary medicine), adviser for food safety and veterinary issues. Expert for assurance of food safety and legal act implementation. Former research work performed on moulds and mycotoxin investigations, as well immunotoxicity studies of mycotoxins.
