Description of Participant and Expertise:

Assessment of packaging functions for protection, preservation, distribution and transport
Characterisation of packaging materials from mechanical stresses, physical-chemical properties (barrier properties), food safety, sensory aspects, protection of contents, resistance to distribution stresses and impact on the environment
Evaluation of microbial qualities of packaging materials, implementation of HACCP systems in packaging plants, characterisation of surface and adhesion properties
Compliance of packaging with food and environmental regulations
Identification of the constraints related to transport
Adequacy of packaging to the constraints of transport and distribution
